Spring has fully arrived on our Winston Campus and is beginning to blossom on our Avery Campus and at our Hendersonville office. Flowers are blooming, trees are budding, and our gardens are coming to life. We are surrounded by signs of new beginnings and growth.
As I spend time with our students, I see the joy in their smiles and feel their excitement. Summer is just around the corner, and soon their days will be filled with beach trips and fun activities. So much joy lies ahead!
The Heart of Spring: Easter
At the center of this season of new life is Easter. Finally, I can wear my seersucker suit without Caroline reminding me, “You’re not supposed to wear that until after Easter!” Little girls finally get to show off the Easter dresses they’ve been admiring in their closets, while little boys groan and ask, “Do I really have to wear this…?”
But when we look beyond the dusty Easter suits, bright new dresses, and reluctant boys in clip-on bowties, we find the true meaning of Easter.
New Life Through the Resurrection
Spring reminds us of new life, but Easter celebrates the greatest new life ever offered—the resurrection of Jesus. The empty tomb is proof that Jesus is who He said He is.
“He is not here; he has risen, just as he said.”
— Matthew 28:6
Because of the resurrection—because of the empty tomb—Easter is not just a moment in history. It is a present and living reality. Easter reminds us that we can live every day with hope, courage, and purpose.
Living as Resurrection People
We are called to be resurrection people: walking in the light, sharing the good news of Jesus, and reflecting His love in all we do.
This Easter, may your heart be filled with the joy of knowing that the tomb is empty, Jesus is alive, and His love never fails. Whether you’re attending a sunrise service, gathering with loved ones, or quietly reflecting, let the power of the resurrection renew your faith and bring peace to your soul.
