We are excited to introduce Dr. Naomi Leslie as the Medical Director for Crossnore School & Children’s Home. Dr. Leslie grew up in Greensboro, NC and received her BA in Psychology from College of the Holy Cross and her Doctor of Medicine at the University of North Carolina School of Medicine. She met and married her husband, Brian Hogan, while in Chapel Hill.
Dr. Leslie completed her internship and residency at the University of California-San Francisco. She also completed the Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Fellowship Training Program at Stanford University. Dr. Leslie is board certified with the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology and the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, Subspecialty in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.
Dr. Leslie has served children and families in Massachusetts and California before coming to North Carolina in 2015. She and her husband have a daughter, Frances, born in 2014 and they wanted Frances to grow up closer to her extended family. Dr. Leslie stays busy with family, her work, and also enjoys the practice of hot yoga and reading fiction on her Kindle.
Dr. Leslie currently serves as an Assistant Professor and the Program Director for the Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Fellowship at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center (WFUBMC) in Winston-Salem, NC. Crossnore School & Children’s Home contracts with WFUBMC for a faculty member to serve as our Medical Director. Dr. Leslie has been working in this capacity on the Winston-Salem campus since 2015.
In Crossnore, psychiatric care has been provided for a number of years by David Cook, MD. Dr. Cook has a great rapport with our children and staff and will be missed. Dr. Leslie will now serve the psychiatric needs of the children on both the Crossnore and Winston-Salem campuses.
Dr. Leslie comes to us with a wealth of knowledge and expertise and I’m excited she has joined our team!
