Cindy Michaud

Whether it is local color, emotional color, provocative color, or just wild-and-crazy-color-for-colors-sake, the art of Cindy Michaud offers a feast for the imagination. She has never been content to limit her creative exploration so you may find hints of collage, clay, paper, wood, and even mosaic beside (or inside) her works on canvas.

Painting now primarily in oils, Cindy first spent many years working in pastel. She is inspired by everything from the chair in her bedroom to the castles of Italy. Homebase is her studio in Foscoe, NC but her travels, the changing landscape, and quirky “objects of desire” all inform what ends up on her canvas.

Before moving to the mountains, Cindy resided in coastal Florida with two amazing sons, a stubborn dog, and the world’s most patient husband. To this day all four run in terror if approached by Cindy carrying a loaded brush, a saw, or a tube of liquid nails!

Finally, in her words, “I create art because the process gives me great joy. I hope that when someone purchases and hangs my work in their space, it continues to throw that same happiness into their world. Art wants to tell a story, share an emotion, move you, or, at the very least, cause a spark of connection. Don’t settle because it matches your color scheme…fall in love! I promise you won’t regret any acquisition when that happens.”
