DAR Chapters continue their support of The Crossnore School

by

The Daughters of the American Revolution has a long and storied history with The Crossnore School. The DAR’s involvement has brought many blessings to this campus, not the least of which is six campus buildings. To this day, local chapters host collection drives for cottage gifts, for Christmas and birthday gifts, and other needs that arise on campus. DAR members who live in western North Carolina often serve as volunteers or visiting resources on campus as well.

Recently, we have been blessed by gifts from two local chapters. Martha Jordan, Regent of the Greenlee Chapter, NSDAR, Old Fort, NC stopped by with some chapter members who had collected toys, clothes, school supplies, and cosmetics.

“Our lobby was full of great stuff that the kids are going to love,” said Courtney Lane, Outreach Coordinator.

The Daniel Boone Chapter, NSDAR, Boone, NC held a sock and gift card drive. This effort was spearheaded by Donna McNeil, Schools Chair, who presented the gifts to CEO Brett Loftis at their December chapter meeting. Donna also serves Crossnore as a visiting resource and loves the time she gets to spend with the children.

We are so grateful for the support of the DAR which has enabled children from this region to receive quality care and education for decades.
