Child & Family Therapist
Josh currently serves our resident population as a Child & Family therapist on our Avery Campus and previously served as a Cottage Parent for 3 years. He earned his Master of Social Work from Appalachian State University and is a Licensed Clinical Social Work Associate. Josh has a passion for working with adolescents who are navigating the effects of trauma and childhood adversity to help them heal while reimagining and building towards brighter and more hopeful futures. In harmony with other holistic aspects of care provided at Crossnore, he works to use a person centered, strengths based, and intersectional approach to promote each individual’s dignity, worth, and self-determination. Other evidence based modalities he utilizes include: Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Interpersonal Psychotherapy, Solution Focused Therapy, and Emotion-Focused Individual Therapy. Josh originally partnered with Crossnore Communities for Children in 2017 and returned in 2024.
